Fri, 03 Feb 2012 23:10:01 +0100 (Reuters) - Haitian immigrants wait to receive food at a shelter in Inapari, Peru's border with Brazil, February 3, 2012. Over 250 Haitian immigrants hoping to enter Brazil have been stuck in Inapari, a remote border town some 1,620 km (1,005 miles) southeast of Lima, after Brazil's government closed the border to them. Haitians are looking for opportunities in Brazil, which has enjoyed years of growing economic prosperity and attracted billions of dollars in foreign investment. Brazil recently agreed to grant work visas to thousands of poor Haitians escaping the quake-ravaged nation, but Brasilia is looking to stem illegal immigration.
